Gender inequality in youth employment is one of the most common challenges in global labor market. This inequality is seen in various forms, such as full-time and part-time, formal and informal jobs, differences in wages and job security. The present study examines the factors affecting gender equality in youth employment to implement policies to reduce gender discrimination and increase the participation of women in the labor market of some developing countries. In this regard, the Bayesian model averaging was used to examine the intensity and type of model's influence on the equality of youth employment during the period 1990-2016. The results of the model estimation show that GDP, gender equality in elementary education, foreign direct investment, democracy, the index of political globalization, government expenditures, domestic investment, the share of urban population, the share of women in the population, growth Population, the number of mobile users as a substitute for infrastructure in the ICT sector and oil exporting countries have a negative impact on the gender equality of young people. Among the variables mentioned are more influential, population growth, domestic and foreign investment. On the other hand, economic growth, gender equality in secondary education, open trade, the number of internet users, unemployment rates, and the religion of Islam and Christianity have had a positive impact on gender equality in employment. Therefore, maintaining a balance in population growth, preventing domestic investment in inefficient projects, creating the right platform for women's higher education, using the Internet to update women's skills and create their job opportunities, limiting dependence on the sector Oil as a male component, and ultimately increased economic growth in developing countries and Iran, can lead to greater use of human capital in women and the reduction of gender inequality. |
