Psychometric Properties of the Persian Version of Adult Sources of Self-Esteem Inventory among Iranian Students |

Objective: the aim of the present study was to determine the validity, and reliability of Persian version of Adult Sources of Self-Esteem Inventory as the cross cultural scale for assessment of the self-esteem. Method: A sample of 500 students (350 females, 150male) were selected from Kharazmi university in Iran and completed the Persian version of the Adult Sources of Elovson and Fleming's Self-Esteem Inventory and the Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale. Results: The Cronbach's alpha (0.90) indicated satisfactory reliability of the inventory. Also, the results of the Explanatory Factor Analysis indicated three factors include outer self, personal self and relational self and the Confirmatory Factor Analysis approved this structure. Conclusion: The findings showed that the Persian version of the Adult Sources of Self-Esteem Inventory is a suitable tool in assessing of sources of self-esteem and can be used in research and intervention fields in Iranian samples. |
