Early diagnosis of diseases is very important because it can greatly increase the recovery rate and prevent the spread of diseases. However, in many areas with inadequate medical facilities timely diagnosis of diseases is challenging. Conventional medical diagnostic methods require specialized laboratory equipment and trained operators, which limits the utility of these tests. Along with the continuous development of technology, microfluidic systems have shown great potential to advance biomedical research that was previously unimaginable using conventional techniques. For point of care applications, these systems can quickly detect diseases at low cost. In this study, we discuss the challenges in the field of medical diagnosis and the importance of microfluidic systems as the best candidate to answer this need. Also, we describe the components of the microfluidic system and their manufacturing methods, and some of their most important applications in the field of health. |
