عنوان انگلیسی Effectiveness of Positive Thinking Training on Self-Concept and Social Adjustment Among High School Blind Students
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Objectives: The present study aims at investigating the effectiveness of positive thinking training on self-concept and social adjustment among blind Persian students. Methods: The statistical population included all blind girl students studying at high schools in Tehran in 2014. The design of the present study was pretest-posttest with a control group. The participants were 22 blind female subjects (11 in experimental group and 11 in control group) selected using convenient sampling method. Data were collected using Roger’s self-concept questionnaire, an adjustment inventory for school students (AISS), with items distributed on a social scale, and a positive training package consisting of eight positive training sessions of 80 minutes each. Then, the data were analyzed using covariance test and SPSS 16. Results: The results showed: 1. Positive thinking training affects the social adjustment of blind students in a favorable manner. 2. Positive thinking training positively affects the self-concept of blind students positively. Discussion: In general, the results of the research suggest that positive thinking training could significantly increase the self-concept and social adjustment of blind students.
