Introduction: Marital compatibility will lead to the improvement of the couple's relationship and then the strength of the family, thus, the purpose of this study is to review the factors related to marital compatibility in couples in the form of a descriptive study.
Methodology: This research in 2024 with the stages of designing the study question, searching in SID, PubMed, magiran, Iran doc, Science Direct, Scopus and Google scholar search engine with the main keywords "related factors", "marital compatibility", "men" ", "women", "couples" and done. After that, relevant studies from the period of 2016 to 2024 (last eight years) were selected. After screening the title, abstract and full text of 1124 studies, finally 18 studies were left to announce the results. Researches that had an uncertain sample size and execution method, and whose full text was not available, were first excluded from the study process. The quality screening of the studies was done using the AXIS evaluation checklist.
Results: Based on the review of the literature, the findings were placed in four categories based on the answers to the main research question, these include communication factors (interactions and communication style, empathy and commitment), individual factors (age, age of marriage, previous marriage history and gender, number of children), psychological factors (emotional intelligence, personality traits, attachment style, emotional intelligence, stress, boredom, domestic violence, self-esteem and marital justice),economic and social factors (economic status, employment status, education).
Conclusion: According to the results of the current study, various factors in the field of communication factors, psychological factors, economic and social factors play a role in the marital compatibility of couples |
