عنوان انگلیسی Relationship between Patient Characteristics, Behavioral Perceptions and Daily Activities with Post-Stroke Depression among Outpatients Stroke at Wongsonegoro Hospital, Indonesia
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله
Various factors may cause depression in stroke patients. Thus, the purpose of this study was to analyse the relationship between patient characteristics, behavioral perceptions and daily activities with post-stroke depression among post-stroke patients. The study design was cross-sectional. Seventy outpatient stroke patients at Wongsonegoro Hospital Semarang who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were included in the study. Behavioral perception was assessed by a behavioral questionnaire, daily activities by the Barthel index, and depression by the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale questionnaire. The data obtained were analyzed using linear regression by chi-square and GraphPad. The majority of patients were 59.95 years old, male 51.4%, had their illness for ≥ 6 months 57.1%, education level 44.3%, and income less than the minimum regional salary 61.4%. Characteristics (age, length of illness and income), behavioral perception analysis and daily activities were correlated with the incidence of PSD with a P-value <0.05. Strengthening behavioral perception and focusing on improving daily living should be a priority to reduce the risk of depression among patients. Health education with practice needs to be implemented by health professionals to the patients and patients' families in fulfilling their daily activities for prevention of post-stroke depression.
