Male Infertility and Its Impact on The Women Sexual Behaviors: Attention To Psychological Rehabilitation in Infertile Couples |

Objectives: Those men who have long been suffering from infertility and failed to get treated, experience higher levels of depression, are less satisfied with their sex lives, and far less healthy. Sexual dysfunction is a problem among infertile couples that can effects on marital relationship and satisfaction. In other word this study aimed to examine male infertility and its influence on the women's sexual behaviors. Methods: This study is cross-sectional study by convenience sampling from people attending Fertility Center in 2013. The subjects were women with infertile husbands without associated physical and mental diseases such as sexual function disorder, diabet,cardiovascular and psychotic or mood disorder or consume drug effect to sexual function and a group of women with fertile husband who were matched for age, education and occupation. Then data gathered by three questionnaires concluded the Hubert Index of Sexual Assertiveness (HISA), Sexual Dysfunctional Beliefs Questionnaire (SDBQ) and Couple Burnout Measure (CBM) by the two groups, each group consisting of 98 women, and ultimately the results were compared between the groups. Results: Findings showed that, the mean 2 subscales in emotional burnout (p=0.01) and psychological burnout (p=0.001) from couple burnout dimension were statically significant in two groups of women with fertile husbands and infertile husbands. Also there were differences between mean score of two groups in SDBQ subcategories in sexual self-thought (p=0.002) and sexual dysfunctional beliefs (p= 0.04). Sexual assertiveness in fertile women was higher than the other one. Sexual burnout and SDBQ subcategories were higher in Women with Infertile Husbands than in Women with fertile Husbands. Discussion: As a results, male infertility may be associate with sexual disorder in partner. It need to attention to all aspect of infertility inside medical treatments. There are numerous disincentives to psychological treatment as a psychological rehabilitation that may be help to infertile couple for adjust to this problem. |
