همپوشانی سنتی و نسبی پایگاه های اطلاعاتی Scopus و Web of Sciences در حوزه بیماری‌های غدد درون‌ریز |

مقدمه: این پژوهش با هدف تعیین میزان همپوشانی سنتی و نسبی پایگاه¬های Scopus و Web of Sciences در حوزه بیماری‌های غدد درون‌ریز انجام شده است. روش ها: این پژوهش کاربردی و با روش پیمایشی توصیفی بود. جامعه پژوهش شامل کلیه مقالات بازیابی شده در دو پایگاه، که با جستجوی 11 توصیفگر اصلی و 120 زیر رده فرعی در سال 2009 صورت گرفته است. پس از ورود اطلاعات کتابشناختی مقالات به نرم افزار Endnote، مقالات مشترک و مقالات منحصر به هر پایگاه مشخص و در نهایت میزان همپوشانی با استفاده از نرم افزارهای ٍEndnote وExcel محاسبه شد. یافته‌ها: نتایج نشان داد که از بین 7448 عنوان مقالۀ بازیابی‌شده، 4216 عنوان در Scopusو 3242 عنوان در Web of Science، 2799 عنوان مقاله به صورت مشترک در هر دو پایگاه، 1417 عنوان مقاله منحصر به Scopusو 443 عنوان مقاله منحصر به Web of Science است. این دو پایگاه 70/60 درصد با یکدیگر همپوشانی سنتی دارند. همپوشانی نسبی Scopus با 33/86 درصد بیشتر از همپوشانی نسبی Web of Science با 38/66 درصد است. بحث و نتیجه‌گیری: یافته ها نشان داد که Scopus در همه زمینه¬های موضوعی، همپوشانی نسبی بالاتری نسبت به Web of Science دارد و با توجه به بالا بودن درصد همپوشانی سنتی و نسبی Scopus و Web of Science می¬توانند جایگزین مناسبی برای هم باشند. لذا، متخصصان و پژوهشگران حوزه غدد با علم به این موضوع نیاز به هزینه اشتراک بالا برای هر دو پایگاه ندارند. زیرا می توان این هزینه ها را صرف خرید یکی از این دو پایگاه نمود. |

Traditional and Relative Overlap of Scopus and Web of Science Bibliographic Databases on Endocrine Field |

Introduction: This study aimed to determine the traditional and relative overlap between Scopus and Web of Science databases in Endocrine System Diseases. Methods: This research is a descriptive survey and an applied study. Research population includes all articles retrieved from Scopus and Web of Science databases. 11 Descriptors and 120 sub-heading were searched in endocrine field in 2009. The bibliographic information of all the articles was entered into Endnote software. Then common articles between the two databases and articles unique to each database were determined. Primary data needed for overlap calculation were obtained using Endnote Software and data analysis was done using Microsoft Excel. Results: The results of this study showed that 7448 of articles on endocrine retrieved from Scopus and Web of Science databases, 4216 of which belonged to Scopus and 3242 to Web of Science. There were 2799 common titles, while there were 1417 titles in Scopus and 443 titles in Web of Science. The traditional overlaps were 60.70%, Relative overlap between Scopus and Web of Science for 11 descriptive were found to be 86.33% vs. 66.38%, respectively. Conclusion: The results showed that Scopus has an approximately higher relative overlap than Web of Science in all of the subject, and regarding the high percentage of overlaps these two databases can be an appropriate alternative to each other. Understanding of this fact can help physicians, researchers who work in the field of Endocrinology to meet their information needs using only one of the two databases. |
